About the Yale Radiology AI Assistant
The Yale Radiology AI Assistant is a user-friendly tool designed to help you quickly access department information. It serves as a centralized knowledge hub where you can ask questions about policies, trainee resources, tip sheets, look up phone numbers from the department directory, and more.
Think of it as a helpful assistant who has read all the department's documents and can quickly find and explain the information you need.
Behind the scenes, this application works in several steps:
- Data Collection: The system gathers Yale Department of Radiology knowledge base documents — including policies, trainee resources, and tip sheets — along with contacts directory information from authorized sources.
- Information Processing: This information is carefully organized and stored in a secure database.
- Intelligent Search: When you ask a question, the system searches through all available information to find the most relevant answer.
- Conversational Response: A specialized AI assistant presents the information in a clear, conversational way, with references to sources when applicable.
Importantly, all answers are based directly on actual department information - the system doesn't make up information or provide opinions.
